Choose a Door – Left or Right
Now our client base has expanded throughout Europe and America we are no longer able to offer our services to measure all of the doors we manufacture. But we have the following steps which make it easier for new clients to calculate their own dimensions and opening direction. If followed every door will fit and work perfectly.
LEFT OR RIGHT
To work out if your door opens left or right, observe the diagram below. If you look at the door as it opens toward you (NOT the point of entry) and the hinges are on your right, then the door is right hinged. If you look at the door and the hinges are to your left then the door is left opening.

Things to note when deciding which way to hang your doors:
- We recommend that light switches are located on the side of the door handle.
- No furniture or objects should be hit when opening the door.
DOOR DIMENSIONS
SBS Design produce all of our doors to customer specific measurements, we do not have a standard size, but the following sizes could be considered as standard:
Door Width:
- bathroom, toilet, storeroom, laundry room – 70 cm.
- bedroom, children’s room, kitchen, office – 80 cm.
- living room, entrance door – 90 cm.
Door Height:
- 200 cm.
Width of the door frame:
- 15 -25 cm.
